Aging is an individual and population characteristics. For both, it is a life journey beyond the biological decline of human body because it is intertwined with sociocultural structures and factors (e.g., age, gender, social class, race/ethnicity, policy, religion, social norms, and culture etc.) and environmental factors (e.g., air and drinking water quality, green space access, precipitation, temperature, and neighborhood built-in and social environments). It is important to understand how these features are associated with human aging, health and well-being, and risks for diseases, and provide robust scientific evidence for intervention or treatment development to improve quality of life for the aging population.
